As we reach the halfway stage of voting in the inaugural Volvo People’s Choice Team of the Year, a number of positions see multiple players in a neck and neck battle to be selected in the final XV.
As things currently stand, each of the five Australian Super Rugby teams would see at least one player make the final cut, but in almost every single position there’s significant competition for spots.
As per the competition terms and conditions, this competition is now closed and entries submitted after 16:59 AEST on Friday August 5th will not be eligible to win the prize, nor will their votes count towards the final tally used to determine the Volvo People's Choice Team of the Year 2016. You may still complete your team below to generate an image to share with your friends and family on social media.

In particular, the two lock and wing positions and the battle for the scrumhalf jersey are exceptionally tight, and will likely go the wire. The same congestion that sees significant competition for the Wallabies’ openside flanker spot is also replicated in a five-way battle to wear the number seven jersey in the Volvo People’s Choice Team of the Year.
So who wears the number 7 jersey in your team? Australian sprinting legend Matt Shirvington selected David Pocock, former Brumbies and Wallabies superstar Owen Finegan couldn’t see past Michael Hooper, while Liam Gill, Sean McMahon and Matt Hodgson have all seen plenty of support.
It’s so easy to vote and make your voice be heard, and even better is that just by voting you go into the draw to WIN tickets for you and five friends to one of the upcoming Test Matches in Sydney, Brisbane or Perth!
